Delinquent-Monteferrato Nebbiolo Superiore 2020
Medium deep ruby with an amber rim. Aromas of wild berries, sour cherry, cedar wood, tobacco and dry spices. Youthful palate, still a slight tannic bite, fresh acidity, discreet red fruit flavours with fine persistency. Fine potential just a bit on the youthful side needing time to open.
Delinquent-Grignolino d’Asti Schersa Nen 2022
Medium deep garnet colour. The nose exhibits dry wood, tobacco, pepper, clove and grapey red fruity aromas. Medium weight, still youthful with quite a tannic bite, yet good character and personality with spicy red fruit flavours and rather long finish, give this another 1-2 years before opening.
This was one of the memorable discoveries I made last year. The Delinquent 2019 Monferrato Nebbiolo Superiore is an exacting, pure and precise expression of Nebbiolo.
The wine reveals tart fruit and sour cherry, but perhaps more significant are the chiseled aromas of crushed stone and limestone that linger delicately at the rear.
I am reminded of crushed aspirin and black pepper in this elegant and streamlined vintage.

EXPAT STORIES: AN AMERICAN OPENS A WINERY IN ITALY
I’m glad that I’ve been able to meet Amanda and hear her fascinating story. And since I was doing “Thursday Takeovers”, I thought that she’d be perfect for it.
Talking with her makes me feel delighted. I was captivated with her passion. Indeed, a revelation of thrill and enchantment!
And I hope you’ll also feel the same way as you go through Amanda’s story, so be ready to ride onto some adventures and/or lay back and drink a great glass of wine. With that said, let’s get started.
